It was the third straight win for the Beavers who upped their season mark to 4-1 overall. Babson snapped a 1-1 tie with two runs in the top of the second. The Beavers then added single runs in the fifth sixth and seventh while holding Finlandia scorless over the final eight frames to clinch the 6-1 win. With their sights set on a third straight Harris Cup MSE is going to be extremely difficult to knock off here. Don’t count out Lawrence however as one more win will set a school record for most wins in a season. I say: MSEMarian (14-10-3) @ Finlandia (17-8-0)Each won two games against the other this season with Finlandia holding a slight 15-13 goal advantage in the contests. After falling just short of the regular season MCHA title Finlandia wants another crack at MSE but they better not overlook a Marian team that holds an eight game winning streak — currently the nation’s longest. 16 the UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball team earned a 33-point win at non-conference opponent Finlandia University (Mich. ) it’s largest margin of vitory of the season. The second time around at Zorn Arena Finlandia wasn’t so easy for Eau Claire to put away with the Golds winning 75-69. “Any time you play a team twice they’re the most dangerous team” coach Terry Gibbons said. “It doesn’t make a difference where you’re playing them home or away especially if they have any pride and I’ve got to hand it to Finlandia they’ve got a lot of pride. Eau Claire held a 10 to 15-point lead for most of the game but could never quite put the Lions away. Finlandia went on a 7-0 run with just under four minutes to play to cut the Blugolds’ lead to 71-67… “It doesn’t make a difference where you’re playing them home or away especially if they have any pride and I’ve got to hand it to Finlandia they’ve got a lot of pride. Junior Jared Bardon shot 4-4 from the free- throw line in the final minute to help the Blugolds hold off Finlandia Saturday night improving their record to 10-11 overall. “They’re a good basketball team; they’re very athletic” Gibbons said. “They can get up they can dunk they can play and it’s a good win for us. Five players scored in double figures for Eau Claire four of whom were starters.

The bar was divided into three sections for each drink category. All drinks were required to include Finlandia vodka as the base and were limited to six ingredients. Many of the contestants brought ingredients from home like marzipan d cor exotic fruits and sorbet. Gadi Avekases director of Bartender bartending school however said that the contest environment wasn’t conducive to judging elements which are crucial to a successful bartender: “You have to feel comfortable with the bartender. He or she has to know how to serve when to talk to the customers and when to be quiet – to create chemistry. Hardly any of the bartenders demonstrated the skill of say Tom Cruise in the film Cocktail in which he fancily juggled bottles and glasses.
