Spirits Review: Finlandia Tangerine Fusion
Creative Loafing Tampa
r maybe my love for the hearty Fins and the frozen tundra they call home will counteract those ill feelings towards anything as silly and inappropriate as cramming aromatic nonsense into bland ethyl alcohol. h um perhaps I betrayed my feelings there. It’s just difficult to have sympathy for any nation that can concoct a flavor as profoundly odd as the one that wafts from a glass of Finlandia Tangerine Fusion. The first whiff comes across as an orange scratch-and-sniff circa 1985 the kind of concentrated faux-citrus flavor that seems more appropriate these days for infomercial cleaning solutions or truck stop air fresheners. But wait Finlandia uses only natural flavors in its Tangerine Fusion. f course when they say natural flavors they’re likely talking about atoms stripped from plants and recombined by chemists in a lab not a few pounds of tangerine run through a food processor. With the first sip of the vodka I immediately peg the flavor thanks to a long childhood of aches and pains: Finlandia Tangerine Fusion tastes like chewable Bayer baby aspirin.

PIERRE THE SUDBURY STAR Posted 9 days ago A non-profit organization providing affordable housing and supportive care to more than 300 Sudbury seniors is proposing a $15-million 80- unit expansion of its facilities. The Sudbury Finnish Rest Home Society Inc. which operates the Finlandia Village complex is seeking federal and provincial housing subsidies for the proposed development. The proposed complex would cater to a growing demographic — seniors who need affordable housing as well as support services to help live with a degree of independence said Brian Koivu chairman of the Finnish Rest Home Society’s board of directors. The group is among several private and non-profit organizations that have indicated an interest in affordable housing grants being offered by the federal and provincial governments.
TMS band winter concert

” The chorus sang the songs “Gloria” “You’re a Mean ne Mr. Grinch” “You Raise Me Up” and “Peace I Leave With You. ” The after school band played the songs “The 12 Days of Christmas” “Finlandia” “Emerald Point verture” and “Lexington March. “We have worked hard since the beginning of the school year on these songs for this winter concert. It was a huge success and the bands and chorus played and sang wonderfully. if you missed out on this performance there will be a spring concert to take place later in the year. Great job to the TMS band after school band and TMS Chorus!.
