” The chorus sang the songs “Gloria” “You’re a Mean ne Mr. Grinch” “You Raise Me Up” and “Peace I Leave With You. ” The after school band played the songs “The 12 Days of Christmas” “Finlandia” “Emerald Point verture” and “Lexington March. “We have worked hard since the beginning of the school year on these songs for this winter concert. It was a huge success and the bands and chorus played and sang wonderfully. if you missed out on this performance there will be a spring concert to take place later in the year. Great job to the TMS band after school band and TMS Chorus!.

As hip as the trendy illustrated walls and as well dressed as their cocktails the fashionable clientele make it a place to see and be seen. The drinks menu has something to satisfy every palette but cocktails are the bar’s speciality and constitute the super-friendly staff’s area of expertise. Sample a ‘Joe Le Taxi’ the manager’s favourite and a delicious but dangerous concoction of Finlandia Vodka strawberries and—curiously—balsamic reduction. At around £6 a cocktail prices are steep but well worth indulging in for a memorable Festival treat!More articles like this:Edinburgh Festival 2009 drangonfly bar review otherComments.

Gerard Warren has quietly emerged from bustdom in Cleveland and become a competent starter at the other tackle spot. He uses his weight well and is a reliably strong tackler but fatigues quickly and must be part of a rotation to stay freshly effective. In that regard Warren and top reserve Terdell Sands should make a real strong duo but Sands plays too much like Kelly–far too much Popov effort not enough Finlandia. He plays too upright for an interior lineman. As Derrick Burgess appears poised for a lengthy holdout former Cowboy Greg Ellis takes over his role as the right end and primary pass rusher. Expect some dropoff even though Burgess netted just 3. 5 sacks in eight full games and parts of two others.

After four visits to Helsinki this must be love

If you’re lucky an orchestra in full formal dress will be tuning up in the bandstand across from the Kappeli for one of the concerts that continue throughout the day. I was so entranced by the music (and cloudberry liqueur) that I sat through two concerts — a fiery tango performance that would have made Carlos Gardel proud (the Finns are passionate devotees of tango) and a tribute to a native son composer Jean Sibelius that included his epic Finlandia and The Swan of Tuonela. If you are a fan of Sibelius you might be able to catch a concert of his music at Finlandia Hall but even if he is not on the hall’s concert schedule during your visit you can pay your respects at one of the city’s most unusual monuments. The Sibelius Monument in Sibelius Park is a sculpture resembling organ pipes. It is 600 hollow steel pipes welded together in a wavelike pattern. Helsinki is composed of a number of bays peninsulas and islands on the Gulf of Finland and near the Baltic Sea. A pleasant way to spend a summer afternoon is to take a cruise through its winding canals — like Stockholm Helsinki is often referred to as “the Venice of the North.
